Elegio carpet
The artefact
This Sardinian wool carpet features a balanced geometrical motif with stripes and alternating light and dark grey shades. The ambisughe motif is inspired by the weaving tradition of Nule, designed and crafted by the weaver with an original composition of thin and thick stripes and colours, varied in frequency. The carpet is woven on a vertical handloom following the wicker technique. The first fringe threads on the short sides are a typical feature of this production.
